Voids Team Leader Location: Northfleet Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP35,000 per year, depending on experience Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Job type: Full-time, permanent Our client is looking for a Voids Team Leader to join their family friendly company based in Northfleet, Kent. As part of their expansion strategy, this is a newly created position to work within their Operations team. Responsibilities of the Voids Team Leader: Advise and support the Operations team and the company as a whole on matters as relevant to the role. Carry out pre and post inspections of all void works. Undertake site visits and inspections to ensure compliance and that works are adequately resourced, are being effectively delivered to set quality standards, completed on time and within budgets. Support the Operations Manager and Voids Contracts Manager at progress meetings and in producing performance and progress reports. Provide leadership to the Voids Team, ensuring all members have agreed to and are aware of their personal goals and how these supports the company goals. Ensure that Company objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but owned by the Voids Team. Ensure and promote that, at every level, Customer Service and Quality is at the forefront of everything our client does. Support the Operations Manager and Voids Contracts Manager in their responsibilities of ensuring there is effective and continuous communication between the Voids workforce and the company as a whole. Carry out EH&S Responsibilities Supervise the Voids Team, within your area of responsibility, from day to day to ensure high quality of work and customer satisfaction are maintained. Requirements of the Voids Team Leader: Experience in the building industry, ideally working within a customer focused housing repair and maintenance team. Experience of re-forecasting and reprogramming of projects. Experience of safety compliance and carrying out inspections within a housing environment. Have a comprehensive and thorough knowledge of working drawings, specifications, and trade preambles. Knowledge of asbestos, Gas Reg, legionella, building regulations, fire regulations, health and safety regulations and carrying out risk assessments within a housing environment. Ability to communicate at all levels. Ability to see potential problems and work through solutions until resolution is reached, in all areas of the work. Good Leadership Qualities. Good timekeeper and flexible approach to work. Ability and willingness to learn new skills and attend relevant training courses as and when required. Ability to demonstrate excellent skills in your primary trade and competency in at least one other secondary trade. Must be self-motivated and positive. Ability to consistently produce work of the highest standard with good attention to detail. Ability to organise the workload of your team to make effective use of their time. Must be flexible and prepared to undertake a variety of tasks as directed by Directors Must be prepared to participate in the training of apprentices and to assist the Company with its local employment initiatives. Must possess a driving licence and be willing to travel to and work in areas outside of Kent when required.
