The Role - Teaching Assistant supporting year 7 pupil
Where - Secondary School Newport
We are working closely with Headteacher in Newport to recruit a teaching assistant full time starting ASAP. This is due to additional funding for a pupil coming into year 7. In this teaching assistant role you would working 1:1 with a year 7 boy who has a statement of Special Educational Needs. You will be expected to form a positive relationship with the pupil and ensure that they are engaging in school life. This pupil will be accessing secondary mainstream education for the first time therefore they need someone who is patient, caring and supportive.
This Secondary School is based in Newport and has 1800 pupils on the roll with excellent modern facilities. In the school's latest inspection ESTYN commented that pupils in the school show respect and good manner to each other, staff and visitor.

Be able to form positive relationships
Educated to GCSE level
