Support Workers and Care Assistants
Not all SUPERHEROS wear capes, as an all important key worker you can be a real hero to our students and they want you to know what they need………
What it is like being my support worker
Here at Young Epilepsy being a support worker isn't just about helping me to get dressed or to eat my food, it's about encouraging me to learn new things and become independent. I might need you to help me with cooking and trying new foods, baking and sharing cakes with my friends. I may need you to help push me in my wheelchair when we are out and about in the local area enjoying myself. We may need to go shopping to the local shops.
I may need your help in encouraging me to reach my full potential and help me if I find things difficult, I will need you to be patient with me and believe in me and boost my confidence with every day and new tasks.
Young Epilepsy really is a special place to work and the team here will provide you with comprehensive training and support you to achieve your Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3. There are also comprehensive development opportunities, training programmes and clear pathways.
If you are compassionate and a great communicator, we can't wait to hear from you and we have roles available ready to start now or in September within Residential Care, St Piers School or St Piers College.
