About Our Client:
My client is a Global Fleet Engineering Company, one of the biggest in the UK and the World, suppling specialist automotive vehicles in Aviation, Haulage and Maritime.
Overall purpose of the job
Performs a variety of routine servicing, inspections (VOSA standards) and subsequent repairs to one or more types of Distribution Tractors, Ro-Ro Tractors and other equipment.
Perform visual or operational checks to locate worn, dirty or maladjusted parts.
Carry out technical inspections or use technical manuals and diagnostic techniques to find and repair inoperable or defective machine parts, components or systems using a small variety of test equipment.
Will be required to undertake thorough inspections of accident damaged machines and produce accurate reports to enable repair.
Observe all Health & Safety requirements at all times.
Responsibilities

* To accurately and quickly fault diagnose and undertake resultant repairs. To include working on a range of makes and models.
* To able to undertake vehicle servicing, repair and other related work.
* To complete all vehicle servicing and repair documentation correctly, in a timely manner and to a good standard.
* To be able to interpret and remedy vehicle defect descriptions communicated by vehicle users.
* To be willing to assist colleagues in the execution of their jobs as required.
* There will be an element of manual handling involved.
* To work with all departments, particularly with projects that are being explored or implemented.
* Undertake any other duties consistent with the purpose of this job or to support the needs of the business.

* Where possible ensure a first time fix.
* To maintain a high standard of customer service at all times.
* Develop own competence to meet requirements of job.
* Undertake any other duties consistent with the purpose of this job.
* To maintain and develop current processes and procedures in the upkeep of the internal documentation.
Qualifications / Experience Required
To hold levels 1, 2 and 3 City and Guilds or equivalent qualification.
Experience of undertaking fault diagnosis and repairs on specialist vehicles.
Skills Required
* To be able and willing to communicate effectively within Workshop Management and Supervision, work colleagues and customers.
* To be able to interpret and remedy vehicle defect descriptions communicated by vehicle users.
* To be willing to assist colleagues in the execution of their jobs as required.
* A flexible approach to working in a workshop team environment.
* A flexible approach to working hours is required.
* Undertake such other duties commensurate with the post as may be required for the safe and effective performance of the company.
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within a workshop environment.
* To liaise with the Workshop senior engineer and Workshop Co-ordinator at the Commencement of duty each morning to receive guidance/instructions on Vehicle defects and related repair priorities.
* To be able to fill in company time sheets and service reports and any other paperwork required by the company in a clear and timely manner.
What's on offer:
48hrs per week - Monday to Thursday Nights - 7pm to 7am (4 x 12 hour shift)
£39,000.00 per annum
Pension: 6% employer, 5% employee,
25 days holiday (plus statutory) FTE
death in service 3x annual salary,
Company sick pay scheme on passing 6 month probationary
