A major civil engineering and highways contractor are recruiting a Site Engineer for an upcoming £15m project in Hampshire commencing imminently. The business are a tier one contractor with a solid workload on the South Coast delivering projects up to £200m on ongoing frameworks which will keep you local until 2026. The business has excellent training programmes with the ICE and will be able to give you the mentorship through your chartership.
The Site Engineer will be based on a new project starting this winter compromising of demolishing 2no existing bridges, widening the carriageway and installing new bridges as well as upgrading the drainage, VRS and other highway aspects along the way. The enabling works are due to be finished this side of Christmas with the main works commencing in January.
Ideally you will have graduated and have at least 6 months' experience using a total station in a site based role which will aid you to use your initiative coordinating gangs to maximise efficiency and work in-line with the programme.
Site Engineer duties include:
Setting out roadworks, earthworks and abutments with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)
Manage all engineering activity providing direction to the direct workforce and subcontractors
Quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client's and business's requirement
Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD
