Senior Java Developer required with strong skills in web centric Java Devlopment and distributed / highly available systems to work on the design, development of resilient and scalable Microservices and AWS cloud centric systems is required by fast growing scale up in Cambridge with strong ethical credentials who are pushing the latest tech including Java, AWS, Event Driven Systems, Kafka, NoSQL, Kubernetes to build a complex market leading product.

Salary £55-70k + Bens + Stock

As a Senior Java Developer you will have skills in some of

Strong skills in Java / JEE development, but will also have an interest in other languages and the ability to work across the stack
Familiar with developing complex scalable / high available systems and patterns that assure performance, resilience and scalability
Ideally experience developing with Spring Boot or distributed microservices & distributed containerised microservices
Ideally experienced of Cloud centric development ideally AWS or (GCP, IBM Cloud, Openstack etc)
Experience with AWS cloud-hosted applications and use of a variety of AWS cloud services
Ideally experience of containers (Kubernetes, Docker, ECS, etc)
Strong interest/working knowledge of event based systems / messaging systems such as Kafka or Rabbit as well as RESTful APIs
Proven experience or Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery / DevOps
Experience with SQL and NoSQL datastores such as Cassandra
A strong appreciation for secure coding. Key elements of the role of Senior Java Developer would include

Design and hands on development of fault-resilient, scalable, secure and highly-available microservices
Coaching and mentoring other developers.
You will play a senior role within your team helping identify any necessary changes to support quality, security, performance, availability and versatility
Work in a DevOps / CD culture within a component based team pushing for increased team autonomy
Collaborate with the wider technology team working on different elements of the domain to sustainably deliver quality working software at pace to our customers
Maintain a good awareness of systems issues and trends - particularly with regards to performance, availability, security and related emerging technologiesThis is an outstanding chance to join a fast growing and high calibre technology scale up in Cambridge and will offer the chance to stretch you technical and soft skills working on a technology product that will lead in the fight against climate change.
