Senior Buyer (Engineering/Manufacturing)
My client, a North Kent Engineering company, are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join them on a full-time permanent basis, in return for a competitive salary of £35-45k + a generous benefits package.

Duties for this exciting new Senior Buyer role include but is not limited to:
Managing all purchasing functions end to end, both transactional and strategic
Carrying out an extensive review of suppliers along with processes procedures and systems; working closely with the SMT to produce and implement an effective Procurement strategy
Accountability for day to day purchasing activities ensuring that customers needs are delivered to agreed budgets, quality expectations and SLAs
Implementing and managing optimum inventory levels to ensure product availability whilst minimising obsolescence and driving inventory and cost reduction
Liaising with all stakeholders to ensure that the agreed commercial and delivery terms for goods are met and reviewed, and quality standards are adhered to
Achieving best value for money on all procurement goods, works and services, and reducing the cost of procurement processes and ensuring continuous improvement
Chairing or leading the department weekly Supply Chain meeting, offering timely and relevant reporting based on data analysis of key metrics, with strong commercially led observations and suggestions for improvementTo be successful, you will be/have:
Substantial proven experience working as a Senior Buyer in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment
Strong experience using SAP Business One - ideally having carried out a similar system overhaul previously
Advanced Excel with skills in data analysis and reporting
An exceptional communicator with first rate interpersonal skills
Ideally worked in both large and small business environments
Contract management experience
A proven track record in controlling expenditure
A detailed knowledge of capital expenditure and strategic sourcing
Commercially astute, with the ability to analyse, find and present solutions.
Experience in sourcing bespoke manufactured parts
Experience sourcing large numbers of small components
Incredibly organised and methodical
A proven track record in cost saving through supplier reviews
Educated to at least A Level standard, ideally to degree level
A solid CV history - job hoppers need not apply!
