Quantity Surveyor = Birmingham
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + benefits
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and knowledgeable Quantity Surveyor to join the major projects team of a highly successful, national multi-disciplinary consultancy which specialises in energy transition projects. Working out if their dynamic Birmingham office, you will work, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, on projects across a range of sectors including water infrastructure, waste infrastructure, industrial facilities and public buildings (education, defence, government facilities).
In order to be considered for this Quantity Surveyor role you will:
Have a strong degree in an engineering, building, quantity surveying, science or business subject.
Have Associate Membership of a relevant profession institution (e.g., MRICS).
Have experience of cost estimation methods and standard methods of measurement, including CESMM and NRM.
Have experience in the management of major procurements of construction contracts.
Have knowledge of a wide range of forms of contract including NEC, JCT and FIDIC.
Have experience of the administration of contacts for major capital projects.
Be able to identify, address and resolve differences between individuals and/or interest groups.
Be able to demonstrate experience of effective team-leadership.
Be a strategic thinker, able to solve complex problems.
Working as a Quantity Surveyor you will:
Work closely with clients to ensure that the service provided both meets requirements and achieves high levels of customer satisfaction.
Financially manage services to deliver contract requirements to a commercially positive result.
Develop project cost estimates, including the collation of data to support estimate preparation, parametric, comparative, bottom-up and use of appropriate indices.
Develop cash-flow analysis for estimates in liaison with project schedulers.
Develop three-point estimate data to support monte-carlo simulation and risk management.
Prepare contract documents.
Assess appropriate forms of contract and contracting strategies.
