The successful applicant will be a motivated Maths graduate who has an impressive 1st class or high 2:1 degree in Maths related degree such as Finance or Economics level and the unflinching determination to build a teaching career. Your portfolio will include an infectious passion for learning that will help create a similar understanding of the importance of education in your students. The school want to meet applicants who have the urge to contribute to wider school activities and step outside the support staff remit.
My client school is a large, oversubscribed secondary school in the Outer London Borough of Ealing. The socio-economic circumstances of most students is at least average, with below average entitlement to free schools meals. The student population is largely made up of White British heritage and very few students have a first language other than English.
A Maths, Finance or Economics graduate is required to work on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with pupils in Years 7 to 11. The main part of your responsibilities will be to provide support to those pupils that are struggling with Maths. There will be some occasions where you will be required to be a part of the Maths after school's club.
