Fantastic opportunity for to utilise your Manufacturing Engineering skills in a varied role for a leading design, development and manufacturing business with a diverse, project driven, product base and supporting a range of international customers.
As Manufacturing Engineer you will be supporting the transition of new products into a new production area, supporting all aspect of design for manufacture (DFM), devising shop floor layouts and ensuring best principal manufacturing is being applied at all stages.
With a background as Manufacturing Engineer you will:
Work closely with Engineering and Research & Development to support the smooth introduction of new products and processes.
Take responsibility for writing and maintaining Work Instructions and BoM's
Managing Engineering Changes (ECN's) and supporting Quality improvements
Utilising your lean skills to identify and implement modern manufacturing processes.
Managing the in-house plant, equipment and tooling, identifying any additional needs and ensuring they are maintained
To succeed in this interesting role you will ideally be HNC/D+ qualified and have proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering / Production Engineering capacity with specific knowledge of:
Mechanical assembly or machining, fabrication or electro-mechanical assembly environment
New Product Introduction (NPI) / Design for Manufacture (DFM)
Supporting manufacturing tooling and layouts / routings
CAD experience for jig / fixture design / engineering changes highly desirable
Writing work instructions
A hands-on can-do-attitude is vital.
Excellent problem solving skills essential as are first class communication skills. An understanding of lean manufacturing techniques highly advantageous.
