Albyn Housing Society are currently trialling a hybrid working model we are referring to as 'Hub, Home and Roam.'

• 'Roam' is about offering community-based service delivery, meeting customers, and visiting them in their homes or local communities
This role will require the post holder to work in a hybrid working way.
About the Housing Services Officer Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised, and creative individual to join the Albyn Housing Group.
To deliver high quality customer services over a geographically based caseload that will ensure the organisations aims, objectives and performance standards are met or exceeded in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and best practice guidance, and within available budget parameters
You must be an excellent communicator who enjoys working with people and can communicate effectively with staff, tenants, and stakeholders.
Housing Services Officer Main Responsibilities
Effective management of a geographically base caseload to deliver excellent customer services, in particular relation to the following:
• Monitor, control and progress actions for the prevention or recovery of current and former tenancy rent arrears or other tenancy related debts
• Manage day to day repairs and maintenance to agreed standards, timescales, and budgets to ensure tenanted and empty (void) properties meet agreed quality standards and are kept in good condition and repair
• Assess and prioritise the relative needs of housing applicants; and maximise customers' housing options through advice and access to the Highland Housing Register (HHR) and all other relevant options
• Allocate properties to appropriate applicants on the housing list in compliance with internal and external procedures and regulation, ensuring that all applicants are treated fairly and that void periods and rent losses are kept to a minimum
• Manage, monitor and implement appropriate actions for all tenancy dealings; anti-social behaviour and neighbourhood complaints; and other tenancy and estate management issues
• Provide information and advice on all relevant aspects of housing policy and
• legislation to customers in accordance with National Standards of Information and Advice Type 1 accreditation
• Engage with customers to develop and deliver local services in accordance with Scottish Social Housing Charter requirements
• Investigate and respond to customer contacts, including complaints, in line with the Scottish Public Sector Ombudsman (SPSO) complaints process and internal guidance
• Help to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships
• Assist in the development of and apply relevant policies, procedures, and good practice
About You as a Housing Services Officer
• Achieved or actively working to gain a Housing HNC / Building or equivalent qualification
• Several years' experience of working in a customer focused environment.
• Have at least 2 years relevant work experience within housing management, allocations and/or the building and maintenance sectors.
• Good ICT skills
• Experience of a housing database system
• Experience of dealing with challenging situations with resilience, flexibility, and confidence in an appropriate manner.
• Understand the requirements around procurement and the execution of small building maintenance contracts. Understand small contract administration and tendering procedures.
• Able to travel independently to all locations within the allocated area at all times during the working day.
