Permanent: 37.5 hours a week, full-time, week day office hours.

Salary: £18,087 - £19,601

Holidays/Pension: 35 days annual leave, pension scheme with 4% employers' contribution and life insurance at 4 times your salary.

The Social Care Community Partnership are currently recruiting for Housing Support Workers for a well-respected charity based in Edinburgh to achieve successful outcomes for vulnerable people who are either sleeping rough or who have slept rough previously. This post is to support people in temporary accommodation to break the cycle of repeat homelessness.

The support worker will be responsible for developing and delivering high quality practical and emotional support to people and promote choice and control for those engaged in the service. The Support Worker will be competent in delivering trauma informed, person-centered support and capable of working in a community-based lone working capacity.

Key responsibilities

To provide quality services to people through effective support planning, monitoring, evaluation and review of their requirements in partnership with them.
To work with service users to develop and deliver person-centred support plans that achieve the best possible outcomes for people who use the service.
To promote effective communication and joint working with partnership agencies and community services to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
To provide practical assistance for domestic and personal needs to people as required, whilst encouraging personal responsibility and maximization of personal choice.
To act as an advocate, or facilitate advocacy, where appropriate by acting on behalf of people who use the service.
To promote choice, well-being and the protection of service users from the risk of danger, harm or abuse.

Qualifications and experience:

SVQ3, Social Work, Nursing qualification or equivalent or willing to work towards it.
Minimum of one year's experience of service delivery within a social care setting.
