Health, Safety & Environmental Manager

Schoeller Allibert is looking to recruit a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager. This role will report to the Operations Director

Job Purpose

The Health, Safety & Environmental Manager will be responsible for leading the Health, Safety & Environmental agenda of the UK business to ensure continuous improvement to our safety and environmental performance targets are achieved whilst also ensuring full compliance to our legal and statutory duties.

Principle Accountabilities

* Determine and enforce environment and safety requirements in accordance with company needs, based on current regulations

* Organise and promote companywide HS&E improvement programs

* Responsible for planning and execution of internal audits

* Contribute to continuous improvement of our established Environmental Management System according 14001

* Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators to Senior Management and Generate monthly environment and Safety reports

* To communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

* To ensure data is collected and effectively analyzed using the appropriate statistical methods

* Interface with NPD and Project Teams to ensure compliance with current regulations for any new plant, equipment or mould introductions

* Part of the corporate audit team

* Keep abreast of all local current legislation in environment, safety & health, advise and coordinate of safety & health monitoring activities, encompassing audits and accident reports, ensuring information is cascaded to the relevant managers.

* Facilitate the site managers accordingly to ensure compliance

* To identify, investigate and manage the introduction of new work methods, materials, process and equipment ensuring compliance with current legislation and ensuring safe working practices

Qualitification & Experience

* Qualified to at least NEBOSH Diploma level

* Knowledge of ISO-standards,

* experience with ISO implementation and execution

* Knowledge of local environment, health and safety requirements/legislations

* Minimum 5 years' experience within HS&E environment, preferable withiin a manufacturing environment

* Excellent team player

* Pro-active approach and not afraid to change existing habits

* Internal Auditor Certification is advantageous

* Highly IT literate and able to specify and use IT to structure, analyze and present data to in a way that leads to the full understanding of the facts
