Fife is one of the largest Education and Children's Services Directorates in Scotland supporting over 50,000 children and young people. Our goal is to create a collaborative service for all children across Fife, with a clear focus on the complete needs of every child, raising educational attainment and reducing educational inequality. This means we need an innovative educational leader with the capability to deliver improvements in performance against a background of reducing resources.

Managing a budget of approximately £100 million the emphasis is on delivering improvement in educational attainment and achievement for all.
The role encompasses strategic oversight for all children and young people in Fife during the Broad General Education phase of Curriculum for Excellence (CfE).

You will have a proven record as a strategic thinker and change leader. You will be completely committed to improving the education experience, improving outcomes and attainment, and closing the gap in primary schools. Fife needs an individual capable of working closely with and inspiring colleagues, partners and elected members to deliver our vision.
Educated to degree level, you will also have a comprehensive knowledge of the wider policy context facing local government in your area of expertise and be able to influence this agenda at local and national level.
Before confirming your appointment to the post, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership through Disclosure Scotland.
