We are an award winning, diverse online retail and manufacturing company based between Brighton and Eastbourne. We are looking to recruit an exceptional Financial Controller, to not only manage day-to-day running, but also to seek out improvements and drive execution of projects. The Board has committed to a change and development programme to grow the B2C online business with a view to annual double-digit growth and a focus on margin improvement/retention. This individual will provide analysis and insight to the Board team, to aid the strategic decision-making process and be responsible for leading and developing the finance team to support this growth.

Job Description

Working closely with our senior management team, the role of Financial Controller will be integral to the overall success and performance of the business. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will inform and contribute to strategic decision-making, but also challenge assumptions when necessary. With an emphasis on analysis, strategy and commercial drivers, other key responsibilities will include:

Hands on leadership and management of a small finance team
Timely delivery of management reporting, which brings insight and understanding.
The interpretation and understanding of business performance
Provide an analytical and detailed approach to business reporting and analysis
Continuous drive to improve reporting, processes and systems
Oversee the annual budgeting process
Challenge the norm to develop bottom and top-line growth
The Successful Applicant

The successful individual will be an experienced and qualified (ACA / CIMA/ ACCA) finance professional with a commercial and entrepreneurial outlook.

You will be a leader of people and a supportive team member with a strong focus on developing others.

You will have a hands-on approach and be able to quickly switch from strategic thinking to leading and managing your team at an operational level.

You will be commercially astute and have experience of working in a growth orientated business, ideally within an online retail business and/or a manufacturing environment.

You will have a passion for excellence be able to demonstrate where you have set up processes, procedures and systems to support growth and improve profit margins.

You will have excellent communication and presentation skills.
