We are looking for an Engagement Officer to support all areas of this large well respected supplier of Fresh Produce at their distribution hub and offices just outside the M25 in Hertfordshire.
Reporting to the Head of Learning and Development, you will be pivotal in delivering strategies to support employee engagement and retention objectives and instrumental in designing, implementing, and championing activities and initiatives to help deliver their people objectives in partnership with leadership teams and HR.
Day to day activities include:
To support the organisation and individual functions across the group with the delivery of high-quality communications and employee engagement activity to drive and support the delivery of people objectives e.g., retention, performance, communication, recognition, reward, and development
Work with various stakeholders from across the business to support the design and facilitation for a wide range of projects, activities and initiatives that impact employee engagement including forums, committees, employee briefings, management meetings etc.
Keep communication channels across the business updated regularly and in line with business branding
Advise senior level stakeholders on communications and engagement concerns and propose suitable recommendations
Working with various stakeholder and senior management - Identify and implement continuous improvements to deliver new and innovative ways to engage, empower, reward, recognise, communicate, and evaluate activity making suggestions for improvements
Champion company engagement events/initiatives to increase participation through creative and proactive communication strategies
Support new starters within operations in addition to existing induction practices through practical interventions such as regular check-ins

It is essential for this role that you have English and Maths GCSE (grade C or above) minimum
A background in HR / Personnel / Employee engagement
Proven experience in internal communications and workforce engagement
Proven experience of designing, developing and implementing internal communication strategies and campaigns
Experience in facilitating two-way communication with staff, forums and focus groups
Experience of developing and managing a range of communication tools and methods for different audiences and purposes (e.g., publications, social media, e-communications etc)
Practical understanding of Microsoft Office in particular Excel and PowerPoint
Confident presentation skills for conveying ideas and strategies to peer group and business colleagues
Fluency in both verbal and written business English
The ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
Be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
