Our Client

Our client is an NIC EIC registered contractor employed by the MoD to operate and maintain Water and Wastewater assets across England. The Operations team is split into five regions, North to South. Sites are a mix of infra and non infra, with a large variety of electrical and mechanical assets.

Role Objective

This Business Development Manager is responsible for the development and growth of the Water Hygiene department in our clients Services Operations UK.

The Business Development Manager will be accountable for revenue, margins and target, assuring adherence to the commercial risk appetite and Water Hygiene delivery capability.

Key Accountabilities

The key duties of the role are:

As a BDM of the Water Hygiene team, input into the implementation and delivery of growth (either contractual or in relation to projects).
Develop, implement, and deliver against a targeted Business Plan including budget/ KPIs for revenue, margin, market share and customer growth within specified target market segments.
Proactively identify and develop specific sales channels for the Water Hygiene team, managing a tactical implementation plan to secure opportunities and pipeline targets.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual forecasts and reporting for bookings, revenue, conversion ratios of overall sales pipeline. Establish and maintain routines for reporting and MI to support delivery of key outputs and KPI achievement.
Embrace a culture of health, safety and wellbeing whereby it is integrated into "business as usual" and complies with all company policies and statutory requirements.
Establish productive and successful relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, managing and developing current and potential business opportunities, including the negotiation and closure of business agreements.
Maintain our reputation within the industry as a trusted provider.
Supporting the business in meeting the target for customer survey scores (currently NPS)
Manage and own client's issues and complaints through to resolution.
Influencing future industry change to enable company Services to be the market leader.
Ensure IT systems are used appropriately, in line with GDPR, company policies and confidentiality agreements.
Be responsible for ensuring that client's needs are met and their experience in dealing with STS meets all company values (Curiosity, Pride, Courage, Care)
Achieve your annual sales growth target and meet all KPIs.

Experience

In order to succeed in this role it is expected that you will have:

Essential:

Proven Sales and Commercial experience
Working knowledge of commercial and industrial market sectors and customers
Appreciation of contract law, commercial terms and conditions, Technical Specifications, tendering procedures etc.
Commercial awareness of competitors
Budgetary management
Good working knowledge of MS Office.
Water Treatment & Hygiene industry experience / knowledge with specific Water Compliance work stream expertise
Proven track record in national business development in the Water Treatment / Water Hygiene markets.
